The Sausalito Art Festival is America's #1 Outdoor Fine Art Festival. Sausalito, just north of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge, is nestled on the Bay shoreline with breathtaking views. The Festival is located at Marinship Park and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Bay Model Visitor Center in historic Sausalito, where Liberty Ships were built during World War II. Known for attracting Artists long before the Golden Gate Bridge was constructed, Sausalito's unique cultural community continues to attract Artists and Art Enthusiasts year round. 50,000 fans gather in Sausalito every Labor Day, to experience the World Class outdoor exhibit of museum quality Fine Art. The annual Sausalito Art Festival highlights include more than 20,000 original works of art, top name entertainment on three stages, a magnificent sculpture garden, art and activities for children, gourmet food, premium beers, and fine wine from some 50 California wineries — all in an idyllic waterfront setting. The Festival accommodates over 270 Artists. Travellers planning to stay in the area over the Labor Day Weekend may contact The Sausalito Chamber of Commerce for lodging referrals and information. Please make reservations well in advance for this very popular weekend. Handicap ramps are located throughout the Festival grounds and in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Bay Model Visitor Center. The Event is held on a grass-covered site and those in wheel chairs may require assistance. Sorry, pets are not allowed at the Festival. |
