Bay Model Exhibit

This year's theme: Art of Parks

For the seventh year in a row, the Sausalito Art Festival will feature an exhibit of work from local artists at the Bay Model Visitor Center. The exhibit will run from Thursday, August 20th through Wednesday, September 9th, 2009. This highlighted event is a wonderful opportunity for Sausalito artists to gain exposure and recognition by showcasing their work before and during our 57th annual Art Festival.

This year's Bay Model Exhibit theme is "Art of Parks". With the threatened closure of our own Bay Area parks due to budget cuts by the state of California, we are calling for artists to represent why parks are important, how they affect people and humanity, and why they should be displayed through art. We would like this to be a multi-medium show capturing the essence of parks through paintings, photographs, ceramics, fiber, glass, sculpture, wood, and anything that portrays the beauty and naturalism of national and local parks. We are encouraging artists to depict the visual impact of the nature and activities in parks for local viewers and visitors from afar.

If there are any questions regarding the Bay Model Art of Parks Exhibit for artists or attendees, please call the Festival office at (415) 332-3555.
